Cold A/C heater hose valve???

Ok, I am going to do this mod... Nothing fancy, I am just going to put a manual valve in-line with the hose. It's Florida, and I will probably leave it blocked off 8 months out of the year. And it is not that big of an inconvenience to me to just pop the hood and turn the valve lol.

My queston: Which of the two hoses coming out of the firewall should I put the valve in??
What size is the hose??
Thanks:icon_ford:

Get a bypass type valve and use both heater hoses. IIRC it's 5/8" hose. I picked up a vacuum operated bypass valve at carquest that was listed for a chrysler product of some sort. I could have ran the vac. line into the cab to operate the valve, but I just put it under hood. I used a lawnmower gas shut off valve to operate the vacuum. Make sense? Anywho.. it made my AC colder! :)

your truck should all ready have the vacuum bypass valve. it actuates on max a/c.

Can you post a link? I've never heard of this, but I am very interested after the first full day working in 90+% humidity and 100 deg heat index for the year today.

Anyone know which trucks had this with the max a/c on like was mentioned before, was it just some? Mine is an early 99. I'm very much interested in getting this done asap.

Thanks
