removal

ok as much as you here these things are a pain in the butt...theyre really not so bad if youve got a little patience and time. first thig is to remove the fuel bowl, you just have two bolts that are going through the hpop reservoir. thats the square looking thing right above the center of the engine on top of the block. after you get the fuel bowl retaining bolts out, disconnect the lines going into it, BE CAREFUL WITH THE FITTING ON THE TOP RIGHT OF THE FUEL BOWL. it will break if you over torque it!!! i made the mistake once and......well just dont do it. drain the fuel, then disconnect the lines on the hpop reservoir. then there are five or six bolts that hold on the reservoir but be careful because it will be full of oil (maybe.) best way to save it is to use a turkey baster and a small tube and stick it in the sensor hole on top of the res, and squeeze it out a little at a time. after the res is off, youve got to take off that big gear that you see now. dont worry its easy. you have to take off the cover held on by two small bolts. you may have to take off the sensor that is connected to that water line to get to them. youll need a flat head screwdriver and a open ended wrench that fits on that bolt. i cant remember what size. but stick a flat head in between the gear and that wall on the left side so the gear wont spin while youre taking off the bolt. you should probably make a mark so you get it put in the same spot.

so now you need to tackle the hpop. there are three bolts retaining it in the block and a few lines to take off, other than that; very self explanatory. put everything back on the way you took it off.
